Romani language, occasion for celebration at Valea Seacă

Romani language, occasion for celebration at Valea Seacă

June 16, 2021, was a festive day for the community from Valea Seacă. For the first time in their history, Roma in the community had the opportunity to enjoy and celebrate their mother tongue in a special setting. Artistic moments with specifics from the Roma culture and traditions were prepared. Also, a photo exhibition and a book stand were organized, meant to bring to people’s attention aspects of Roma life and history.

The project is implemented by Star of Hope Romania Foundation in partnership with Association of Roma Bears from Dagata with the financial support of the Active Citizens Fund Romania, programme funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Grants 2014-2021.

Also in Valea Seacă, mothers participate in the work skills training and development program. In the program they learn how to use the sewing machine and how to cut so that they can make various clothing items themselves and not only that. Given that these mothers have no school and have never participated in orientation and training courses to learn a trade, this program is extremely useful for their personal development.

Great Joy, June 1, 2021

During the education activity, School after School, the children from Valea Seacă and Dimăcheni communes had a unique celebration on June 1, their birthday. The children participated in fun activities, drew on the asphalt, sang and experienced real moments of emotion and joy. Their faces were crowned with smiles when they received the long-awaited gifts. Teachers from the community, representatives of local authorities and volunteers also took part in their joy.
